5 Simple Steps to Creating Your Perfect Bridal Look
Want to know how to create the perfect bridal look for your wedding day? At Wild & Glam, we’re here to help you with 5 easy steps!
Step 1: Start a Pinterest board for hair and makeup inspiration
Step 2: Have a hair and makeup trial
Step 3: Post trial, make decisions about any revisions
Step 4: Hair and skin pampering
Step 5: Wedding day look!
Step 1:
As simple as it sounds, begin by creating two Pinterest boards, one for wedding hair and one for wedding makeup. Pin as many photos as you want and have fun doing it! Try to find photos where the bridal hair and facial features are similar to yours. This will help give you a clearer vision of what your bridal hair and bridal makeup trials will look like. Remember that these photos are for inspiration to help you realize exactly what you want on your big day! Usually, after review of your wedding hair and wedding makeup boards, you’ll notice that you’ve got a ton of similar photos and that will help you narrow down what look you want for your bridal hair and bridal makeup.
Step 2:
Have a trial for both your wedding hair and wedding makeup look. I often suggest to do your trials on the same day that you have a dress fitting, that way you get a complete bridal preview! You may be torn between a couple different bridal hairstyles or bridal makeup trends and that’s ok. Your hair stylist and makeup artist can help by asking specific questions to personalize your wedding look. Make sure to take photos or videos for reference later. Enjoy the process, you should see yourself as a stunning bride when you look in the mirror!
Step 3:
At the end of the day that you’ve had your trial wedding hair and trial wedding makeup, take more photos and videos. Decide if you are truly happy with the bridal hair and bridal makeup looks. If you have any revisions, maybe you want to add a braid or do a lip colour that’s slightly bolder, whatever it may be, email those revisions to your hairstylist and makeup artist. They will keep all of your information on file for your wedding day!
Step 4:
Have your hair cut, colour touched up, and your favourite facial. You want to make sure your hair and skin are in the best condition for your wedding day so you will look perfect in your photos and videos! Your hair cut and any colour touch ups can be done as close to your wedding day as possible, but ideally no more than two weeks prior. You want to remove split ends to avoid frizz and limp curls, but if you have your colour done too early it will begin to look grown out. As for your facial, make sure you discuss options with your makeup artist. Some more intense facials need time for your skin to heal properly and allow for unwanted oils to move through the surface layer. Your wedding makeup artist can suggest when to have this type of facial if you’re interested. There are gentle facials that only infuse hydration, this type of facial can often be done the week before your wedding, but it’s still best to confirm with your wedding makeup artist.
Step 5:
Put everything together on your wedding day. Your wedding hair and wedding makeup trials are perfectly executed on your wedding day and it’s exactly what you’re hoping for. You look in the mirror and see yourself as the stunning bride that you are! However, if you’re feeling that you’ve changed your mind and you want a different look from your bridal hair trial and bridal makeup trial, that is ok! By now you and your glam team have built a relationship and you have confidence in their ability to understand your vision and complete your bridal hairstyle and bridal makeup look exactly how you want it. This is your special day and we are here to make sure you look and feel your absolute best!
